OK Go’s Open-Source Music Madness

OK Go’s ‘Impulse Purchase’ blends exploding cartoons, real-time motion capture, and open-source chaos. Watch, download, and break the rules

OK Go’s Open-Source Music Madness

OK Go ditched treadmills for digital chaos. Impulse Purchase fuses rolling cartoon critters with Damien Kulash’s real-time facial moves, all powered by Blender’s mind-bending Geometry Nodes.

The best part? The video’s open-source. Download it, break it, make it weirder.

Xinobi - "Strides"

A Lisbon dance odyssey powered by glowing fanny packs and questionable logic.

Xinobi - "Strides"

In the new music video for Lisbon musician Xinobi’s track “Strides,” things get weird in the best possible way. Directed by the Callner Brothers, Ben and Adam, who are usually seen crafting clever commercials, the clip swaps adland polish for a floating-fanny-pack fever dream.

It starts simply enough: two guys by a fountain encounter a pair of glowing, sentient fanny-packs filled with “muy bien” (translation: very good) stickers. Naturally, they start spreading good vibes (and possibly confusion) all over Lisbon. Soon, they’ve inspired a spontaneous dance congregation that looks like a street party with a philosophical subplot.

Of course, not everyone’s thrilled. The “anti-muy bien” crowd soon appears, frowning through the funk and protesting whatever’s happening. The Callners summarize the chaos neatly: “Is this about embracing different people and ideas, or just two dudes wearing fanny packs getting their 10,000 steps in?” Hard to say. Either way, it’s muy bien.

Crazy Together - Mashup with The Beatles and Beyonce

Beyoncé meets The Beatles. James Brown and Macho Man show up too. It’s a lot, but somehow it works.

Crazy Together - Mashup with The Beatles and Beyonce

I love listening to mashups and DJ Cummerbund creates some incredible mixes. This is Beyonce’s ‘Crazy in Love’ mashed with The Beatles ‘Come Together’. Oh, and James Brown makes an appearance. And, Randy ‘Macho Man’ Savage too, for some reason.
